Subtle but cool changes go a long way.
Here at CarBuzz we’re fans of the cars McLaren makes, some admittedly more than others. Can you blame us for loving the 570S so much? It’s “affordable” as far as supercars go and has been likened to the P1. That says a lot because the P1 is pretty much the pinnacle of motoring performance according to fans and experts around the globe. Really, the question isn’t why we like it so much as it is what’s not to like. There’s a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 that kicks out 562 horsepower and propels the lightweight supercar from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds.
The new Track Pack for the 570S is the ultimate version of the supercar, allowing it to work equally well on the road and track. The Track Pack is inspired by McLaren’s long and illustrious racing history, including recent success in GT3 and GT4 categories. Like the road-going, and sold out, 675LT, the Track Pack for the McLaren 570S exploits all the benefits of a lighter weight and increased downforce to deliver the most gifted on-track ability of any member of the Sports Series family. Aerodynamics are enhanced with a 12 mm higher rear wing that boosts cornering downforce by an extra 64 lbs at 150 mph to enhance stability in. These modifications aren’t available on any other McLarens, mind you.
The Track Pack also includes McLaren Special Operations roof finish in Dark Palladium with a stealth-finish sports exhaust. The McLaren 570S Track Pack is 55 lbs lighter than the normal version thanks to weight reduction from a lightweight interior; Alcantara replaces leather on the carbon fiber race seats, dash and steering wheel. Acceleration is measured at 0-124 mph in 9.4 seconds and there’s a 204 mph top speed. This Track Pack option for is available to order now, with deliveries beginning in early 2017. It’s not cheap, but compared to the overall price tag of the car, paying an extra £16,500 (roughly $20,611) is but a drop in the ocean. The question we have is, who wouldn’t choose this option?
